I thought information technology would be dumb merely now am thinking ofay e doing it? Is it a good thought? Is it tacky? Nosotros are going to the Renaissance faire the drinks are $vii-ten a popular so it would be nice having a bit of extra money.

I find this tacky. I'd also assume you'll get more than inappropriate requests than actual money.

Only my opinion. Whenever I see a car with that written on it I observe information technology very off putting. If I have a couple dollars to spare, I'm going to give it to a homeless person not someone I don't know to buy $ten cocktails with. My honest opinion and thoughts as I see this more than frequently and it bothers me every time.

Okay, that is exactly my thought on it initially. I idea it came off as rude and very tacky. The only reason I was kind of thinking most it is because my friend did information technology last weekend and she got almost $300

I think your initial thoughts were spot-on. Practiced for her and all, but not reason to practise it.

I don't recollect I'd put it on a car, merely I've seen people mail service a photo of their grouping with the venmo on social media and I don't hate that. I feel like I'd be more probable to give $10 or something to someone I actually know instead of a random motorcar of people... but that likewise depends on if this bride has anyone who might get offended that they weren't invited on her social media.

I call back begging for money from strangers for a political party will always exist tacky. Someone else's begging success does not negate the tackiness.

I personally have no problem with it. But it may just be my personality and my friend group.

If I saw someone in the bar with a QR code on them similar I've seen on social media, I'd say: "Heck aye!! Congrats, I'll def. send you lot some $ for a drink or whatsoever!".

I don't see it as begging, simply a fun way to interact with people at a bar lol. It's not like yous're actively going up to people and proverb: hey scan this and purchase be a drink! Information technology's a suggestion and no 1'southward forcing anyone to give you money.

Okay I was as well seeing information technology this way too. I have an upshot of just not wanting people to think badly of me and it's something I take to work on and so I am only trying to figure out if information technology's something I want to do or not. So far it seems a lot of people notice information technology tacky/rude

I mean I'yard 28, and I've noticed with my historic period group (at to the lowest degree in my area), it's becoming more than mutual and no one has a problem with information technology lol. I honestly think it's up to interpretation and how people take it. Some won't intendance or pay any mind, others might remember it tacky/rude like posters above, and others like me will welcome information technology and join along! You can't translate what everyone is going to say, and so yous'll have a mixed bag. Just depends on whether YOU retrieve it'due south a fun idea or not!

    I hear ya!!

Too something to go along in heed if you're worried near what people call back: What are the chances you'll come across the people in that location ever again? lol very slim....and so endeavor not to let what strangers think bother you! Simply exercise what you want and accept fun on your trip!

I don't run across a trouble with it! Seems like to if you were wearing a "it's my bachelorette" sash to a bar and some stranger buys y'all a drink for the occasion.

Exactly what I was thinking! I think information technology'due south simply a new-historic period style to the sash approach. Plus it's easier for people to just scan the QR code and send you the money rather than wait at the bar with you for someone to wait on you lot.

Correct?! Not to mention safer - IDK if I'd fifty-fifty want to accept a drinkable from a stranger without eyeing the drink being made/opened the unabridged time!

I hate the word tacky considering it is so offensive. But this is highly inappropriate. People lost all comprehension of manners with the terminal few generations but this is asking for trouble. Non to mention unless you lot know for a fact that everyone yous are interacting with is rubber, yous hazard identity theft besides.

    I hold, I don't think it's tacky - & hold with "Marianne" and "SHY"!

Y'all do you daughter! Don't worry most what others will call back/say - people ever accept something negative to say - and then might too become for information technology and practice what you desire!

I personally find it offensive that yous directed your 'lost all comprehension of manners' comment to the last few generations, which includes mine. It's just a different way of thinking, and to each their own, merely I really don't appreciate it when generations earlier me assume mine and newer ones have lost our manners but considering new ideas are created that you may non agree with.

As far as condom goes, I like how Marianne put information technology in her comment. I'd much rather take someone scan a QR lawmaking to venmo me $5 for a drink, rather than a stranger buy me i and hand it to me without me knowing what went in information technology. For identity theft, that is something to consider, but it'southward still very unlikely to happen.

I would consider information technology tacky, but I don't really get how Venmo is a "social app" and recollect its actually strange that you can run into payments sent between people. Regardless this seems like a "Become Fund Me" for your bachelorette which just doesn't seem appropriate to me. I'm non really interested in buying drinks for someone for an effect I didn't get invited to.
